Shawnee is a city in and the county seat of Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 31,377 at the 2020 United States census. Shawnee is approximately 35 miles (56km) east of Oklahoma City. It is the principle city of the Shawnee Micropolitan Statistical Area, which forms part of the Oklahoma City-Shawnee Combined Statistical Area. The city was incorporated on October 18, 1894.
