Ormskirk is a market town in the West Lancashire district of Lancashire, England. It is located approximately 13 miles (21 km) northeast of Liverpool and forms part of the wider Liverpool urban and commuting area. Ormskirk is known for its historic market, which dates from 1286, and for Ormskirk gingerbread. The town is served by Ormskirk railway station, with regular Merseyrail services to Liverpool Central and Northern Trains services to Preston. Ormskirk is also home to Edge Hill University
