Barrackpore, also spelled as Barrackpur, is a city and a municipality of Kolkata in North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the headquarters of the Barrackpore subdivision. The city is a part of the area covered by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA).
